Why Batch Cooking Alone Isn’t Enough — And What to Do Instead

One thing I’ve realized about batch cooking is that yes—it works. But it only works when you can consistently make time for it. The minute life gets hectic and you can’t carve out that time, your eating routine can quickly become chaotic. And trying to get back into the rhythm of batch cooking can feel overwhelming and stressful. So what do you do when you can’t batch cook? The 80/20 Rule: Your Flexible Foundation The key to sustainable eating isn’t rigid meal plans—it’s building a flexible, balanced way of eating that can adapt to your life. That’s where the 80/20 rule comes in. Here’s what I teach my clients: If you’re working toward weight loss or just starting out, I recommend going even further:90% whole foods, 10% processed to help reset your system and create better habits. Adjust Your Macros Based on Your Activity Level Nutrition isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your daily movement and activity should shape how you eat—especially your macronutrient balance. If you’re not very active: Cut down on carbohydrates. Here’s why: Carbs + fats combined in excess = more fat storage.Stick to lean protein, healthy fats, and fiber-rich veggies to stay fueled without overloading your body. If you’re regularly active (you walk a lot, workout, or move often): Aim for a balanced macro ratio like this: This supports muscle, energy, and sustainable fat loss—without extreme dieting. Eating Well, Even Without a Plan When you live by these simple principles, eating well becomes easier—even on days when you don’t have meals prepped or planned. Whether you’re on the go, at work, or out running errands, you’ll be able to choose whole, satisfying foods wherever you are. Many restaurants and supermarkets now offer cooked or ready-to-eat whole food options. Once you know what to look for, you’ll never feel like you’re “off track” again. Final Thoughts: Make It a Lifestyle, Not a Phase Sustainable health isn’t about perfect routines—it’s about consistent principles you can return to, no matter what season of life you’re in.Start with simple shifts:✔ Eat mostly whole foods✔ Adjust your macros based on your movement✔ Stay flexible, not rigid And remember, when life gets busy, don’t stress—just go back to your foundation. 💬 Want Support and Motivation? Traditional Foods vs Modern Diets: What should we Eat?

I was plant-based for 2 years. Then carnivore. Then Atkins. The results? Incredible. The sustainability? A disaster. As a woman rooted in culture and community, I quickly realized: these diets weren’t designed for my life. Between family dinners, travel, and the sheer cost of ‘trendy’ ingredients, I felt isolated—and exhausted by the hustle. Worse? The ‘wellness’ industry hijacked these diets, pushing processed ‘keto cookies’ and ‘vegan junk food’ that made me question: If we’re eating fake versions of real food, what’s the point? 🥗 Modern Diets: Innovation or Confusion? Diets like Atkins, vegan, plant-based, or carnivore often focus on body goals: weight loss, muscle tone, gut health. And to be honest, they all work—to an extent. I’ve tried them all—Atkins, plant-based, even carnivore. I was vegan for two years and got fantastic results. My body responded well, and I truly believed I could sustain it. But then life shifted—and so did my ability to keep up. Here’s the truth, my queens: Carnivore gave me amazing results too—but quickly I realised: man shall not live by meat alone. The universe offers us a table full of goodness. Why only pick one part and discard the rest? 🌍 My Realisation: Take the Best of Both These diets are powerful—especially if you’re healing or need a quick shift. I’ll still recommend them in the right context. But long-term? They’re not always sustainable for a culturally rooted woman who grew up eating in a more balanced, wholesome way. After years of exploring both traditional and modern foods, I now coach women to blend the two with intention. The result? You become a balanced, empowered, well-nourished woman who feels strong, eats with freedom, and honours her identity. 💡 Final Word: Choose Balance Both traditional and modern diets can work—if you approach them with intention. What’s best is what works for your body, your culture, and your life. Reclaiming your heritage

resources for holistic health & wellness

Reclaiming your heritage doesn’t mean rejecting the modern world. Instead, it’s about integrating the values, lessons, and pride of your culture into your daily life. Start small by reconnecting with traditions that resonate with you, whether it’s preparing a cherished family recipe, wearing fabrics that reflect your origins, or teaching your children the stories and wisdom passed down through generations. Your heritage is more than a backdrop; it’s the foundation of your strength and resilience. It reminds you of the legacy of perseverance, brilliance, and creativity that you carry in your veins. When you embrace it, you unlock the ability to show up authentically, whether in the boardroom, at home, or within your community. In a modern world that often pushes assimilation, reclaiming your heritage is a bold and empowering act of self-love. By honoring where you come from, you inspire others to do the same. Together, we can create spaces that celebrate diversity and richness while carving paths forward with confidence and pride. So today, take a moment to reflect on what your heritage means to you and how you can let it shine in your everyday life. Remember: your roots are not a weight; they’re wings.
